Topics Covered:

  • 5th grade Science: general science. We cover Life Science, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We will learn many things about the world that God has created.  We will participate in the Upper School Lock-in where we will be testing the lift of helium balloons. The 5th grade will also participate in Science week.  The students will be building fuel-cell cars and doing many experiments along the way that help them understand how the fuel cell works.
  • 6th grade Science: general Science.  We start the year off with experiments on water.  We go to a local pool and test all the properties of water.  Next we take all of our data and create boats out of Duct tape and cardboard and have a race.  We will participate in the Upper School Lock-in where we will be testing the lift of helium balloons. The 6th grade will also participate in Science week.  The students will be building fuel-cell cars and doing many experiments along the way that help them understand how the fuel cell works.
  • 7th grade Science: integrated Physics and Chemistry.  The first half of the year we discover many theories and laws of physics with hands on activities.  The second half of the year we look more into chemistry and how our world is created by the 90 elements that God put on the earth.  We complete many hands on activities that help the students comprehend how the elements make up our world. We will participate in the Upper School Lock-in where we will be testing the lift of helium balloons. The 7th grade will also participate in Science week.  The students will be building fuel-cell cars and doing many experiments along the way that help them understand how the fuel cell works.
  • 8th grade Science: Biology.  In this class we discover how amazing God created all living things.  The students have many labs that will open their eyes to God’s creation.  We will also have two different dissections.  The first dissection is a Frog and the second is a Pig. When we dissect the pigs we create a ER. The Upper School goes through a full transformation to become an E.R.  All students are turned into doctors for the day as we begin the lab.
