Teacher - Donna Schelen

Mrs. Schelen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University, Chicago and has over twenty years of experience teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade and preschool.  Mrs. Schelen enjoys spending time with her family, reading and cooking. 

Kindergarten Scope & Sequence:
  • Fine Motor Skills:  Letter & Number Formation with Handwriting Without Tears
  • Social Skills:  Listening, Sharing, Following Directions and Cooperative Learning
  • Language Arts:  Letter Recognition, Letter Sounds, Sight Words, Phonics, Sentence Structure, Expressive Writing and Guided Reading
  • Math:  Counting, Number Recognition, Place Value, Adding and Subtracting
  • Science:  Five Senses, Earth & Sky, Motion, Life Cycles, Hands On Experiments and STEM Skills
  • Social Studies:  American Symbols, Introducing Map Skills, Rules & Responsibilities, Locations and Landforms & Seasons
  • Learning Centers
  • Bible:  Stories, Prayers, Songs, Books of the Bible, Weekly Memory Verses and Weekly Chapel
  • Enrichment Classes:  Computer, Music, Art, PE and Spanish
